BIO
Dan Whitby – Man or Myth
After joining the British Airborne Forces at the age of 15 years I know I wanted to be the best I could be, So I pushed myself physically and mentally through 10 years of the toughest physical training on the planet, including P-company (Paras Training), All arms Commando Course (Marines Training), S.A.S Selection (British Special Forces). And served in every armed conflict since 1995 – 2005, some of these places included Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Congo, Sierra lyon, Iraq, Afghanistan and others I cannot name due to the secrets act.
These first 10 years from leaving school made me the man I am today, which gave me a fantastic knowledge of what the human body can be put through and keep going.
We are unique in everyway and should embrace it, Don’t just exist and become a sheep, Stray away from the herd and create the best you that you can be.
After leaving the Forces I became a bodyguard for the British government and worked in Japan for 8 months before moving to Spain, where my passion for weight training and power lifting started. I studied how the body adapted in different types of resistance and weight training and tested them personally. I also learned how training different ways created weak spots in other areas, so by studying the human anatomy learned key techniques to help cover the weak areas.
I met John in Spain in late 2006 when I was working on the doors as a bouncer, we where talking one day and john wanted to change his lifestyle and wanted to train in the gym with me, and from then we became great friends and still are.
With what I had learnt and the way I trained and johns enthusiasm, together we created fantastic routines to cover every muscle in the group we were working.
We would often talk about different ideas and exercises whilst working the Doors every night having to break every now and then to throw out some drunken fool or stop pickpockets from entering the clubs (not going into details).
Id like to think this has given John the knowledge and experience to create “Phase 7 Systems” and as my knowledge grows and our friendship goes on I am looking forward to writing for him and his team, hints, tips and reasons why we do what we do.
